Last week I had an hour to shoot up and coming Waterford band Kodakid. The location is one that I found some time ago, a brand new, unused road passing under the new Waterford bypass. Perfect for wet conditions. The new concrete acted as a great background while the opening created a great framing point. Using one light (and a few multiple exposures) here is what I got. Last month I spent an afternoon with the band Sweet Jane ahead of their opening night support slot with Suede at The Olympia, Dublin. I had a ball with them. Here are the images:

Images from 2005, the legendary bassist from New Order & Joy Division : Peter Hook played a DJ set in Electric Avenue, Waterford. Eccentricity personified.

The legendary “Bard of Salford” was in town on Thursday to perform as part of the Imagine Arts Festival. I made a call on the off chance that he was free for a few shots in the afternoon. He was and kindly agreed. What was supposed to be a quick 30 minute shoot turned into 3hrs! John was as generous with his stories as he was with his time. He talked about everything from Ian Curtis & his favourite band The New York Dolls to his gratitude to Alex Turner, whom he attributes to his current popularity. Throw in a few random poems and curious onlookers who thought I was photographing Ronnie Wood - it’s an afternoon I won’t forget in a hurry. Big thanks to Sinead Flynn and Ollie Breslin for organising it all.

Fight Like Apes were for me the act of the weekend at Indiependence in Mitchelstown. Such an energetic band, one surely destined for the big time.

Great gig at the Forum last night, Green Spheres need to get back more often! The place looked great. Friendly Fires, Casiokids & thecocknbullkid were brilliant. Roll on the summer! Special thanks to Mike in Modern Green for the access.
