Bellinter House Shoot

Some favourite shots from a recent colaboration with Buds and Berries on location at Bellinter House is Navan, Co. Meath. I used quite a bit of Polaroid this time around, the b&w images below are from a batch that expired over 30 years ago. It held up amazingly well.

Rodolphe from Best Day Productions was there to catch a look behind the scenes ..

The material was featured on the One Fab Day website and also was published in Confetti Magazine.

Pearl & Godiva shoot in Ballinatray House - as featured on 100layercake.com

Last April, I did a shoot with Sarah from vintage hire company Pearl & Godiva. Sarah, who is also a talented stylist went into overdrive and created a fantastic setting in Ballinatray House. A quick scout unearthed a few great locations on the grounds of the estate. Industry friends such as the award winning designer Bonzie Crotty, make-up artist Kate Rose Crean and cinematographer Rodolphe from Mary Best Day Productions helped to create a very unique shoot. The great weather helped a bit too.

The work was featured the popular blog http://www.100layercake.com/blog/ with some great comments like: “Delighted to see the best of Irish on 100 Layer Cake! Congrats guys!” and: “This is absolutely exquisite. Best shoot I’ve seen in forever.”

Here are some of my favourite images.

Video: behind the scenes at the Bantry House Pearl & Godiva shoot

Rodolphe from Mary Best Day Productions sent me brilliant video he shot behind the scenes at Bantry House for the Pearl & Godiva shoot. He called me a few weeks prior to the shoot asking if I had any interesting projects on the horizon which he could shadow as he wanted to test out a Canon 5D mkII for video. He did a great job, his take on the day can be seen here. The low dept of field looks great in video and it gives an insight into the approach we took. You can see me fiddling about with the Polaroid 600SE. There are so many things to check before you take an actual shot but thats why I love it. I should point out that I have since had a hair cut! I’m sure Kate Rose & Sarah will be delighted with this video too.

Well done Rodolphe.

from this mornings shoot …

Shot on Tramore beach this morning. With thanks to model Emma Sinnott, Kate Rose Crean (make-up) & Michael & Lyndsey from Foxy Chopper. Can’t decide if I prefer the b&w or colour close-up so I included both!

Franc Wedding Secrets - Cover Shoot

Here is the cover for then new wedding magazine Franc Wedding Secrets. Shot in Kinsale Harbour, Peter Kelly a.k.a. Franc is pictured with Etaoin O’hAilpin from Lockdown. This as one tough shoot. Even though it was overcast, it was still very bright with light bouncing off the water. Coupled with the dress which was almost almost white against against the white deck, it really was challenging. At one stage I had to get into a dinghy to circle the boat trying to find new angles. Good fun was had. The launch of the magazine recieved a lot of coverage in the media with TV3, The Herald and The Tribune covering it. Franc Wedding Secrets is on the shelves now.

Fashion Shoot with Banzai & Judith

Yvonne Crotty is a Waterford based fashion designer. Modelling was Judith Batura, a newcomer, who is on the books with Katherine Cahill. Both are very much ones to watch for the future.
